From 2014-2018, Martin served as dean of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. Previously, he served in various positions at 十大网赌网址。路易, including as the Charles Nagel Chair of Constitutional Law and Political Science at the School of Law, vice dean of the School of Law, founding director of the Center for Empirical Research in the Law, and chair of the Department of Political Science in Arts & Sciences. In recognition of his teaching and mentorship, Martin received the Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Washington University in 2011 and the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Washington University Alumni Board of Governors in 2013.
Among his many honors and awards, Martin received the Lasting Contribution Award from the Law & Courts section of the American Political Science Association in 2016 for an article he co-authored. He has also received awards from the Society for Political Methodology and Washington University’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
Martin earned his Ph.D. in political science from Washington University in 1998 and his A.B from the College of William & Mary in mathematics and government in 1994. He and his wife, Stephanie S. Martin, are the parents of a daughter, Olive, and together they live in St. Louis, Missouri.
